About Our Karate School
Phoenix Karate was founded in 2023 by Chandres, Adrian, and Sadie Pickett—three black belts with a vision to create a space where people of all ages could grow through martial arts.
What began in a small basement as a place for their kids to train quickly attracted other families looking for the same supportive and empowering environment. As the community grew, so did the dream. Phoen1x Karate soon became an officially recognized AKA school and moved into a larger space in Uptown Martinsville.
Today, Phoenix Karate is known for its welcoming culture, strong curriculum rooted in American Freestyle and Shorei Ryu, and its commitment to helping every student rise—on and off the mat.
