Classes We Offer

This twice a week class is designed for students ages 3-6 and provides them with introductory open and traditional forms, weapons, and self defense skills, as well as body awareness skills in an engaging way! 

This twice weekly class teaches students ages 7+ introductory to intermediate open and traditional forms, weapons, and self defense skills. Completion of the stripe belt material prepares students for intermediate standard belt curriculum at a pace easier for younger students or those who need extra supports.

This twice weekly class develops leadership in students ages 12+. Our curriculum takes students from beginners absorbing information to advanced and black belts supporting other students through a strong knowledge of open and traditional forms, weapons, and practical self defense skills. 

This once weekly class is designed for students ages 18 months to 3 years and provides them with an introduction to martial arts concepts that include motor coordination, balance, and body awareness. It will also aide in the development of language and cognitive skills including following multi-step directions and exposure to new language. Additionally, the Grownup and Me class will encourage social skills development, including play skills and turn taking.

This class is open to both men and women ages 13+. Come learn self defense techniques and offensive combatives from a certified instructor. Techniques include defenses in both standing and ground fighting and against a variety of weapon types. Increase your confidence and preparedness for any scenario you encounter in the real world.

This is a woman-led class that welcomes women age 13+. Led by a certified instructor, this combat system trains you to disarm attackers in a variety of situations to protect yourself and loved ones in real world conditions. Come train alongside other Phoenix women and become a Valkyrie.

Our Kombat Kids class ensures every kid can be the hero of their own story. To slay their dragons and protect themselves and their kingdoms, we'll ensure your kids are equipped to win their battles. This class is designed for children ages 8-12.

This is an optional group class offered monthly with a gymnastics instructor. Ages 3+ to support all skill levels. Phoenix Karate has a wide variety of gymnastics equipment for your student to develop skills safely.

This class is a requirement for any student wanting to participate in community demonstrations for Phoenix Karate. The Phoenix Karate demo team is open to any Phoenix Karate child with a color belt.

This class is a requirement for any student wanting to compete for Phoenix Karate. The Phoenix Karate competition team is by invitation or after expressing interest with the Senseis. Competition students must have a minimum of orange stripe belt in Little Embers or yellow belt in our Stripe or Standard curriculum to ensure understanding of vocabulary and technique. They are required to purchase a competition gi before their first competition season.

If you or your child are interested in training in both karate and combatives classes, we offer a discount to make it more accessible.

We offer all our families a 10% discount for having multiple individuals enrolled in our monthly classes.
